TEI Region 10 held its 2025 Annual Conference from May 21 to 23 at the stunning Waldorf Astoria Monarch Beach Resort & Club in Dana Point, California.

Over three days, attendees engaged in a robust lineup of educational sessions, networking opportunities, and thought-provoking discussions. The conference kicked off on Wednesday, May 21, with a deep dive into high-impact topics such as tariffs, transfer pricing, and tax reform.

Throughout the event, sessions covered a wide spectrum of tax topics, including federal, state and local, and international tax updates, the evolution of research and development, merger and acquisition trends, ASC 740, tax controversy, and the growing influence of technology in tax departments.

A major highlight was the policy-focused session Latest from the Hill, featuring former Congressman Dave Camp, a nationally recognized leader in tax policy. As a former chair of the House Ways and Means Committee, Camp was the architect of the Tax Reform Act of 2014, the most comprehensive tax reform proposal since the 1980s and a foundational blueprint for subsequent tax discussions. His insights into current legislative dynamics and the future of tax policy provided attendees with a rare and valuable perspective.

Another key session, Tax Policy in 2025, explored the evolving legislative landscape and its implications for corporate tax strategy.

Networking was in full swing at the opening reception and dinner on the lawn, generously sponsored by Deloitte and Crowe. On Thursday evening, DLA Piper hosted a memorable dinner for all attendees, fostering further connection and collaboration.

A heartfelt thank-you goes to conference organizers Kevin Manes and Linda Kim, whose dedication and meticulous planning ensured a seamless and impactful event.
