Each year, TEI’s Iowa Chapter funds scholarships for juniors and seniors majoring in accounting at Iowa State University and the University of Northern Iowa who have shown interest in becoming tax professionals. The annual amount of the scholarship is typically $2,500 at each school.
The Iowa Chapter is proud to announce that the scholarships will be named the Tax Executives Institute, Inc. Bob Birch Memorial Scholarship in honor and memory of Bob Birch, who passed away in July 2024.
Birch had a long and distinguished career as a tax professional, was a passionate advocate for the tax professional community, and was instrumental in the founding and growth of the Iowa Chapter. The chapter is grateful for his many contributions in support of the tax profession and the Iowa Chapter.
