One of my primary goals as TEI’s international president has been to establish a clear, long-term strategic plan for the Institute. This effort began with a comprehensive member survey designed to gather candid feedback and insights from across our membership. In addition, we engaged McKinley Advisors to guide us through this process. McKinley specializes in the nonprofit sector and brings deep expertise in best practices related to organizational effectiveness and internal governance.
- We have now announced the five strategic goals that will guide TEI over the coming years. To ensure that these priorities reflect our members’ needs and perspectives, we hosted four town halls to gather input, facilitate dialogue, and solicit suggestions.
- Aligned and agile—strengthen TEI’s structures, collaboration across chapters, regions, and the Institute, and leadership pipelines to ensure TEI and its leaders operate as one coordinated, agile organization.
- High-quality, accessible, and connected experience—provide a seamless, modern TEI experience with strong, complementary roles, intuitive platforms, and consistent engagement across all levels.
- Globally impactful, locally responsible—strengthen TEI’s global presence by informing, connecting, and representing the in-house tax community worldwide.
- Distinctive, member-driven value—deliver distinctive, experience-based learning and insights that demonstrate TEI’s unique value in developing in-house tax professionals.
- Future-ready membership community—build a thriving, multigenerational membership with clear pathways and equitable opportunities for learning across TEI.
