TEI’s 75th Midyear Conference, held at the Grand Hyatt Washington in March, brought together more than 300 in-house tax professionals, 135 speakers, and 40 exhibiting sponsors for an immersive experience designed to address the most pressing issues in today’s rapidly evolving tax landscape.

This year’s Midyear Conference featured a comprehensive program with expert-led plenary and concurrent sessions covering a broad range of topics, including tax policy, administration, and compliance under the new administration, how to leverage AI and other tax technologies, and international and state and local tax updates. The Midyear Conference also featured engaging leadership sessions on hiring trends and skills, and special workshops on “How to Make Sense of (and Navigate) Your Co-Workers and Teams” and “How to be a Resilient and Effective Leader in the Face of Audits, Provisions, and Compliance,” led by Anne Collier.

The conference also offered ample networking opportunities, allowing attendees to connect with peers, sponsors, and speakers during breaks, social events, and sponsor-hosted sessions. These interactions fostered a strong sense of community and collaboration among in-house tax professionals. One of the event’s key highlights was the TEI Grand Reception, with a fun TEI Midyear Madness basketball theme, where participants competed at Pop-A-Shot and represented their favorite schools and teams with jerseys. The festive atmosphere provided the perfect setting for relaxation and networking. Additionally, many sponsors hosted their own activities, offering even more opportunities for attendees to engage in focused discussions, share insights, and build professional relationships.

We look forward to seeing everyone again at TEI’s Annual Conference in San Francisco this October!
