TEI’s 2026 Federal Tax Course – Level 1, held April 27–May 1 at the Westin Hotel in Seattle, brought together in-house tax professionals from across the country for an engaging week of learning, networking, and professional growth.
“TEI’s Federal Tax Course – Level 1 continues to be a cornerstone of our education portfolio, equipping attendees with a strong foundation in federal taxation while fostering meaningful peer connections,” says Kelly Madigan, TEI tax counsel and legal liaison to TEI’s Federal Tax Committee. “The recent course included a faculty of leading tax practitioners from across the country who provided excellent, practical training designed specifically for in-house tax professionals.”
Throughout the five-day program, attendees sharpened their knowledge on key corporate tax topics, gained practical insights from sessions such as Effectively Managing IRS Audits, and strengthened the skills needed to succeed in today’s evolving tax environment.
The course also focused on building stronger professional relationships through interactive sessions such as Business Chemistry & Effective Communications, which gave attendees practical tools to better understand working styles, improve collaboration, and communicate more effectively.
Beyond the classroom, participants connected with other professionals at networking receptions and a welcome mixer sponsored by Eversheds Sutherland. These opportunities helped foster lasting professional connections and added to the energy and excitement of the week.
For those unable to attend in person, TEI plans to offer a simulive version of the 2026 Federal Tax Course – Level 1 this fall. Additional details will be announced soon. A fully on-demand version of the course is also available, offering participants flexible, self-paced access to the content.
