The San Francisco chapter of TEI held its annual meeting at the Marriott Union Square in June. The keynote speaker was Jonathan Traub, managing principal of tax policy group at Deloitte Tax LLP, whose presentation was titled “Tax Policy and Politics in 2014: Glass Half-Full or Half-Empty?” The annual meeting included the recognition of outgoing and incoming directors, officers, and committee chairs. The chapter also presented a charitable gift to the Bayview–Hunters Point YMCA. The 2014 Meritorious Service award was presented to Jay Selwitz for his many contributions to the chapter. Finally, outgoing president Karen Bowen provided highlights of some of the accomplishments of the chapter during the past year, and incoming president Steve Spafford closed the evening by providing a glimpse of his vision and goals for the chapter for the upcoming year.
