
TEI Region 1 held its 58th Annual Conference May 3–6 at the Fairmont Château Laurier in Ottawa, Ontario.
The program featured many distinguished speakers, including Jack M. Mintz, Ph.D., President’s Fellow at the University of Calgary’s School of Public Policy and one of Canada’s most influential voices in tax and economic policy. Mintz spoke about the chances for significant tax reform in Canada.
Other notable sessions covered the latest on the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development’s Pillar Two, AI in indirect tax, and recent general anti-avoidance rule case law developments featuring an attorney from Justice Canada.
Sessions featuring representatives of the Canada Revenue Agency and Department of Finance capped off the conference.
